Assertive People

Projects & Charity

People feel happiest knowing an objective and having a goal in sight, that is to say having something positive to work toward.

If a Team feels that they are mainly involved with mundane matters, a project can interest and motivate.

Projects may relate directly to the work of the company, in work time or even out of work time may by considered, to plan an event or raise money for charity, but only if a greater number feel they can support such a venture.

Out of hours ventures can appear exciting, but when an opportunity actually arises, support can dwindle and be left in the hands of just a few. Commitment would need to be assessed and then maintained.

A Project may, however, be work based, such as an Open Day, preparing a Information Stand for the Team with individuals carrying out research and making visual displays.

A suitable project may be the preparation of refreshments for Team Meetings or even a group meal.

A line Manager would need to consider the interests and aspirations of his or her Team when considering possibilities.

A Video Camera enthusiast may be able to develop a Video Production with everyone playing a key part.

The main object is involvement.
