Assertive People

  • People are able to think about their feelings, which will usually result in their being able to reason why these feelings occurred.
  • However, if the feelings are a caused by painful memories and the person does not wish to bring them to mind, it may be safer to leave them as they are.
  • Asking a person how they are feeling may prove more productive that asking them how their health is, because the latter may be more difficult to quantify.
  • An assertive person will always be aware of other people's feelings.
  • Giving other people the opportunity to give their point of view may circumvent their feelings being hurt, if a course of action cannot be avoided.
